The TLCC Basic 4WD Course is designed to give new members the skills, confidence, and knowledge to enjoy their vehicle safely - both on Club properties and out on the tracks.

The course is delivered across three Driver Training Modules, combining theory and hands-on practical driving.

Membership & Training Requirements

When you first join the Toyota Land Cruiser Club, your membership is Provisional. To move to Full Membership, you’re required to complete all three Driver Training Modules within three months of joining the Club.

Driver Training must also be completed before:

• Accessing any TLCC Club Properties, or
• Attending social events held on Club Properties.

How the Training Works

The Basic 4WD Course is delivered in three modules:

Module 1 – Theory Night

A relaxed evening session covering the fundamentals of 4WD driving, vehicle types, accessories, and preparation.

• One evening lecture
• Covers essential theory and what to bring for the weekend
• Held on the Tuesday night prior to the practical training weekend
• Location: Chullora, NSW

Module 2 – Practical Driving

A full day of hands-on 4WD driver training using your own vehicle, tackling the varied terrain at the Club’s Willowglen property.

• Location: Willowglen, south of Goulburn
• Focus on driving techniques and vehicle control

Module 3 – Vehicle Recovery

A practical, confidence-building day focused on safe 4WD recovery techniques, along with guidance on recovery gear and accessories.

• Location: Willowglen, south of Goulburn
• Includes recovery methods, equipment use, and best practice

📌 Modules 2 and 3 are completed over one weekend (Module 2 on Saturday, Module 3 on Sunday).
