Membership of the TLCC
The TLCC invites owners / regular users of all makes of four wheel drive vehicle having the capability to successfully complete our “Course in Recreational Four Wheel Driving”, to join our Club and enjoy the many advantages offered to our members. The family membership package provides free of any further charge, an accredited course in recreational four wheel driving consisting of three modules over two days and one evening for both the member and their partner. Family membership provides full membership, voting rights and driver training for two persons.
A single membership is as above but provides driver training for one person with one voting right only.
Note that some 4wd or all wheel drive vehicles may not be capable of successfully completing our training course either due to lack of a low range drive or lack of axle articulation and road clearance. These would thereby not qualify for club membership. Enquiries to the Membership Secretary can clarify whether your vehicle is in this category. All vehicles that satisfy this criteria, regardless of make, are most welcome to join. Many of our near on 1000 members do not drive Toyota vehicles.
Membership remains provisional until the basic course is successfully completed. Completion of the course within three months of joining is required, as driving on club trips and driving on club properties, other than for taking the training is not permitted.
Members receive a free quality bimonthly magazine, the TLCC News plus a monthly Coming Events Sheet. Club trips offering from one-day/weekend trips around Sydney to Australia wide trips are listed therein. Trips are graded from Easy (2WD capable) in various stages to Very Hard (winching and snatching likely). Other social and club events are also included. Regular annual events include the children’s Christmas party, Easter, June fireworks night and the Christmas Dinner. Many additional courses are also freely available in advanced driving and other related fields of interest.
Full membership entitles members and their children to use either of the club properties, Koolandilly and Willowglen any day of the year.
Koolandilly provides 94 hectares of passive recreation and camping area alongside the sparkling, unpolluted Wollondilly River. BBQ and shelter shed, childrens’ playground, hot showers and toilet facilities are available.
Willowglen provides 120 hectares of bushland with 4wd tracks of all degrees of difficulty for drivers with skills varying from trainee to skilled 4wd competitor. Willowglen is used for our major 4wd competion event (the Willowglen Challenge) and annual Funkhana and is where new members driver training takes place. It has many areas suitable for camping, a shelter shed with kitchen & BBQ facilities, flushing toilets and hot showers are available but it does not have the Wollondilly River waterfront camping areas that make Koolandilly our choice for most of our social gatherings.
